Twas the eve of Friday Night Finale, with the stakes getting higher between each class. But despite it being Day Four of Showdown Week, Wheatley students appeared to be missing today. The hallways were temporarily replaced by our favorite characters and celebrities for Character/Celebrity dress-up day. Adam Sandler inspired outfits along with famous football and soccer athletes represented the different grades. A couple of students were seen dressed up in Vector’s iconic orange tracksuit from Despicable Me, along with others who wore minion costumes. Students also mimicked The Rock’s iconic photo in a gold chain necklace paired with a black turtleneck.
Some Juniors took a unique approach to today’s theme and dressed up as their favorite teachers. Various students from Mr. Ardito’s APUSH class took inspiration from the fashion icon’s wardrobe, adorning suits and other professional attire. Some gentlemen from the Junior class also posed next to Dr. Crotty, perfectly matching his signature dress shirt style with a beanie and a tie. This formal wear clearly highlighted the Junior’s diligent efforts against the Senior class.
Students gathered in the auditorium at the end of first period to see an intense round of history-themed trivia. From periods four through eight, students employed their coding skills and participated in the Hackathon competition in Room 450. Each grade also created a boys and girls team that competed against each other in a volleyball competition that took place in the gym during periods seven and eight. Following the 2:52 bell, some students also competed in the scrabble contest.
