On Thursday, October 30th, members of the East Williston School District came together for an event known as “Safe Halloween.” Safe Halloween provides children with the opportunity to trick-or-treat in an safe indoor environment. This way of celebrating Halloween is especially convenient when Halloween falls on a cold or rainy day! Various clubs at The Wheatley School help contribute to this district event.
A few days before Safe Halloween, clubs collected candy from Wheatley students; students can even earn extra credit for donating candy! Students decorated the classroom doors to display their Halloween spirit. People who are welcomed at Safe Halloween include: North Side students, Willets Road students, teachers and their own children, and club members from Wheatley. The children visit a variety of classroom doors and get delicious candy. Additionally, at Safe Halloween, the Art Club provided trick-or-treaters with festive activities, such as clay making and coloring. This was such a fun night for the community and a great tradition that we carry!
