Have you seen the popular holiday bark on your explore page? Would you like to make a simple holiday treat with only a few ingredients? How about enjoying some holiday bark? Holiday bark is a delicious treat that you, your family, and your friends will adore throughout the holidays. It only takes a few ingredients that you can modify to your preference. It could just take ten minutes to prepare, and it will be absolutely worth it. The directions for creating your own holiday bark are provided below! Enjoy!
- The first step is to get a baking sheet and place a covering over it such as wax paper.
- Choose any type of chocolate (dark, milk, white), and melt it until it has a smooth consistency. Melting can be done over a flame in a pot or in a microwave. The process can be sped up by stirring and adding coconut oil to the chocolate bowl.
- Then cover the wax paper on your baking sheet with the melted chocolate. Ensure that the melted chocolate is applied evenly and completely covering the surface.
- And now for the best part! Place your preferred ingredients over the chocolate that has melted. Pretzels, M&Ms, sprinkles, almonds, crushed candy canes, peppermint flakes, marshmallows, crumbled cookies, shredded coconut, candies, or anything else you like to eat are a few options! These ingredients give your food a wonderful taste and a festive holiday appearance by adding many colors!
- Place your baking sheet in an airtight container and place it in the refrigerator to cool.
- Wait until the chocolate and all ingredients are hardened. You should be able to tell if it is ready if you can tap the chocolate and feel it is fully solidified.
- Finally, remove the solidified chocolate and ingredients from the wax paper and start to snap/break the treat in various pieces to share and enjoy with others.
I personally love holiday bark because it allows you to easily customize the ingredients to what you like and enjoy! Some cool styles I have seen are gingerbread house bark, peanut butter chocolate chip bark, caramel and pretzel bark, graham crackers and marshmallow bark, crushed up Oreo bark, and peppermint and almond bark. Happy Holidays, Wheatley!
