The Boys Varsity Soccer team is off to a flying start this season. The boys have only lost once in ten matches. Victories against VSS, Oyster Bay, Herricks, Clarke, and Seaford, along with ties to Mineola and Lawrence have made Wheatley a force to be reckoned with. Defensively, the team is looking as solid as ever. With Jonathan Breslin, Andrew Sivin, Lex Wain, and Coby Kamhi holding the back line, and Zach Jacobs in goal, only four goals have been conceded. Additionally, of the seven games, four have been shutouts. In the midfield, the likes of Christian Cucinella, Billy Richman, Zach Azevedo, and Alec Marcus have been consistently solid to assist both in defense and attack. Up top, Wheatley’s own version of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Brandon Martins and Nick Tagios, lead the line. Tagios, who was recently recognized by Newsday as one of the top 50 players on Long Island, leads the score sheets with nine goals out of the team’s total fifteen. After their 1-0 home victory against Seaford on September 27th, the team is in good spirits and is hoping to continue their promising start to the season. Please come out to support the Boys Varsity Soccer Team!
