Another beautiful day for homecoming, another beautiful homecoming! With my personal last homecoming, attendance brought me back to the good old days when I was a freshman. Below are the clever ways Wheatley clubs created stations to bring interest or awareness to their clubs!

Tri-M:
Hosting donut fishing, face painting, and bracelet making, Tri-M certainly lives up to its name (haha, get it, 3-events)! With events brought to you by Sofia Finguerra, Anna Han, Kiran Gabbur, Ophelia Ching, Sofia Ng, and others, this club used their interactive events to make kids stay a while to listen to music. From songs currently popular in social media to songs from different genres, Tri-M brings their love of music to kids while also supporting their creativity (and hunger!)

Vintage:
Before I realized it, I became a kid again at Vintage’s very own stand staffed by Katherine Galbraith-Chan where poetry meets magnets. By using magnetic vocabulary, kids were able to play around with poetry in an easy-to-interact way, making poetry accessible to kids despite being an advanced form of writing!

Student Equality Club:
Revisiting plenty of girls’ younger skills, Emma Liu and Jhuwon Jung broke out their ten-year-old rainbow loom making kits in order to advocate for the student equality through colorful and flag-based bracelet making, supporting various communities!

Key Club:
Showcasing Key Club and Student Senate, Abigail Rivada worked this stand. With the upcoming Halloween season, kids wrote their guesses for how many candies they thought were in the candy jar on the table. The closest guesser would get to take it all home, bringing a little bit of spirit to the season and advocating for seasonal based school activities handled by the senate!

JSA Club:
The Junior State of America club table, hosted by (Alan senior), showcased competitive games such as hungry hippos and connect 4 in order to facilitate competitive and fair civic “engagement” for both adults and kids!

EAC:
The Environmental Action Committee’s table, hosted by Cyrus Andaz, showcased environmental consciousness through their very impactful activity for kids: “how many trees are left in the Amazon rainforest?” This raffle is a simple yet profound way to communicate the serious corruption that our lives have on environments worldwide, and the importance of preserving the Amazon rainforests trees which are important to the world even beyond the forest. The prizes for getting the answer right are: a reusable EAC water bottle and 3 shirts promoting environmental awareness.

Medical Club:
Can you successfully perform surgery while not killing the patient? I sure know I can’t! That’s why I had my friend win twice because I wanted some candy. Brought to you by Jessica Ferraz and Sophia(edun?) from the medical club, through the use of everyone’s favorite “operation” game, the members of the Medical Club showcase some important skills within the medical field. For each young surgeon who successfully performs the extraction well, they receive a smartie for being so smart and precise!

Chess Club:
Handling three chess games all at once, chess clubs very own Owen faces off against daring kids, in order to promote interest in the sport of chess and to bring attention to the club!
