It’s that time of the year again, Spotify Wrapped is back! Towards the end of every year Spotify releases statistics to each of their users, based on their listening habits during the year. Included in it was a dive into a very colorful universe built upon our top songs, artists, genres and they also created listening personalities for everybody! As per usual, it also included your total number of minutes listened, and there is a playlist that has been customized for each user with their top 101 songs of the year.
The number 1 song on the top tracks of 2022 was As It Was by Harry Styles. Other songs from Harry’s House including Late Night Talking dominated the top tracks in other categories. The second most popular song this year was Heat Waves by Glass Animals. The third most streamed song was STAY (with Justin Bieber) by The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber. And 2 songs from Bad Bunny’s album Un Verano Sin Ti including Me Porto Bonito featuring Chencho Corleone and Tití Me Preguntó were the 4th and 5th most streamed songs!
In the USA, As It Was by Harry Styles and Heat Waves by Glass Animals were the top 2 most listened to songs and were followed by Bad Habit by Steve Lacy as the third most popular. Again, Me Porto Bonito was the fourth most streamed song and First Class by Jack Harlow was the fifth song.
The top 5 most streamed artists of 2022 were Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Drake, and Ed Sheeran. The top groups this year were BTS, Imagine Dragons, Coldplay, Maroon 5, and Arctic Monkeys.
And the top throwbacks of 2022 were Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) – 2018 Remaster by Kate Bush as number 1. Second was Die For You by The Weeknd, and then Another Love by Tom Odell as the third top song. In 4th was One Kiss (with Dua Lipa) by Calvin Harris featuring Dua Lipa, and Infinity by Jaymes Young as the fifth top song.
2022 has been a very exciting year in music, and I cannot wait to see what new songs are released in 2023 for us all to enjoy!
