And we’re back for another year of Spotify Wrapped! On November 29, Spotify released their iconic set of playlists and stories that highlight each individual user’s listening experience starting from January 2023! In case you haven’t seen it yet, here is a quick summary of the personalized collection Spotify made, and the top songs and artists for this year!
To start off, Spotify created their regular collection of short stories, starting with the genre sandwich! This showcases each user’s top five genres over the course of the year, most commonly including rap, pop, and rock.
Next we discover our Sound Town! This reveals a location anywhere in the world, based on our most streamed artists and songs, in which a listener is most likely to find others who have similar listening tastes as themselves.
Moving on, we receive some statistics regarding our number one song of the year, followed by our top 5 songs of the year, and then Spotify generates a playlist for each person with their top 100 songs of the year!
And finally, one of the most anticipated parts of Spotify Wrapped was revealed… the number of listening minutes! This shows a user how many minutes they spent listening on Spotify in 2023, and this number was also converted into how many days that would be!
Afterwards, our top five artists are revealed, as well as in which months we listened to them the most. And then the stories conclude with our listening personalities and a summary page of our listening.
