Spring Into the New Season: How Students Can Make the Most of Warmer Weather!

Now that winter has come to an end and the weather is getting warmer, it is a perfect time for students to take advantage of the outdoors! For students, spring doesn’t just mean warmer weather and longer days; it is an opportunity to recharge and refocus! We can do this by finding new activities and hobbies to do with friends, family, and even alone.

  1. Socialization: Spring is a great season to connect with friends outside of school. The weather is warmer, which means there are more activities one can engage in. Students can play an outdoor sport such as basketball, soccer, tennis, frisbee, or baseball/softball. Activities for students who aren’t as into athletics can be nature walks, picnics, outdoor yoga, or cycling.
  1. Outdoor Studying: Now that the weather is warmer, you can have the opportunity to change your scenery while studying! Instead of studying in your room like you have all winter, why not take your studies outside? You can find a quiet spot in your backyard, a local park, or possibly a nearby beach. This can help improve your focus and give you fresh air. Studying outdoors may even make studying feel less like a chore, and more enjoyable.
  1. Mindfulness: It is important to take time out of your day to recharge your own mental health. It is a good idea to spend time either going on a nature walk, meditating in a quiet outdoor space, or simply just enjoying the fresh spring air. Journaling or listening to the sound of nature is very relaxing and can give people a sense of relief.
  1. Adventure: If you have been contemplating whether to try something new or not, spring is the time of year to do this! Some adventurous activities include: rock climbing, zip-lining, and kayaking. These exciting activities can bring a sense of accomplishment and maybe even a new hobby!
